I would like to provide an update on the current status of our building project. In February, the Elders had sent out Requests for Proposals for the next stage of the project. This phase will include the design documentation, pre-construction, and construction of either the entire Master Plan, or a portion of it. The scope depends on the outcome of the Campaign. We are seeking a Design-Build contract in which a single entity will be granted the contract to design and build the entire project.

We have asked five different companies for proposals. These companies were Quandel Construction, Sordoni Construction, Champion Builders, T. Ross Brothers, and Horst Construction. These companies were selected for their ability to perform the work included in the Master Plan scope, and based on their past completed work. All five were interested in providing proposals, and many came to tour the site. However, Quandel, and Champion decided not to provide proposals. The Elders have reviewed the proposals from Sordoni, T. Ross Brothers, and Horst, and will have a recommendation to the congregation at an upcoming congregational meeting.

We hope to begin the next phase of the project in June of 2017 with the commencement of design drawings, and an anticipated construction start in the Spring/Summer of 2018.
